I disagree with the the choice of WordPress for someone like Jack who is clearly capable of running a static site, but this line is spot on:

One thing I do know, is that a blogging platforms like Medium or Tumblr are never permanent.

Then again, if WordPress is the thing that lets Jack continue to share his words with the world, then I'm on board.
